Bingo Strategy and Tips

Bingo is fast becoming one of the most popular online gambling games to play. While it may not overtake classic casino games like Poker and Roulette, it has a vast global audience of casual players. These players are drawn to Bingo for its simplicity and exciting gameplay.

Bingo Strategy and Tips

One of the reasons why Bingo is considered so easy to play is that there are no complicated rules and strategies to learn in order to enjoy the game. Bingo is more heavily based on luck than some other games, as the numbers that get called out are entirely random. That doesn’t mean there’s no way to influence your odds, however.

At Xfire, we often get players asking us if there is a way to improve your chances while playing Bingo. If you’re looking for a way to improve your odds and land more wins, you’ve come to the right place. We love playing Bingo, and we’re always looking for the best tips and strategies that will help us to win more often.

In this guide, we’ll be sharing everything we’ve learned about online Bingo over the years. Here you’ll find practical strategies on improving your odds and hopefully bringing you more cash. Always remember though, Bingo is still a game of chance, and each time you play, you’re risking your money. It’s possible to improve your chances of winning, but there are no strategies that will guarantee you results. If someone ever tells you they have a way to win Bingo all the time, they’re not being honest.

Read on to discover our favourite ways to play Bingo and learn how you can improve your online Bingo experience.

Choosing the best bingo wite

A lot of how much fun you have when playing Bingo online is going to come down directly to which site you use. While there are lots of different sites out there, some are better than others. If you want to not only win more but have more fun while doing so, you need to pick the perfect site.

Picking the perfect online Bingo site is a challenge. Most major sites will all offer different things, and it’s hard to know which is best. That’s where we come in. Here at Xfire, we test out all the best Bingo sites and write up reviews for each. If you want to know the details and features of a site without having to sign up, just check out the review here on our site.

All the sites we review are trustworthy and reputable, and we only feature Bingo sites which are safe to play at. Ultimately, the best site will come down to your personal preference. But you can give our reviews a look to see which sites suit you best. We let you know what kind of bonus is on offer, what games are available and whether the site is accessible on mobile devices.

Once you’ve found the perfect site, you can sign up and get playing. By choosing a site that has the games and features you enjoy, you’ll be much more likely to have fun and hopefully land big wins too.

Making the most out of your bonus

Like with online casinos and sportsbooks, most online Bingo sites offer a welcome bonus to new players. You can usually claim a nice matched deposit bonus just for signing up and making your first deposit. You’ll be able to use that bonus to essentially play without risk when you first get started.

Some other sites offer free Bingo cards or even free spins on slot games. Depending on what kind of bonus you get, you can really make the most of it to win big. At Xfire, we’re always looking for the best bonuses. We feature a list of our favourites here on our site. If you want to find the biggest and best bonuses, check out our latest casino bonus page.

Make sure you always read through the terms and conditions of the bonus before you sign up. Some welcome offers look great at first but are locked behind complicated wagering requirements and other conditions.

The best Bingo sites will also offer regular promotions to their current players. Make sure you keep an eye out for those as they’ll help you have more fun on your account and can lead to more wins too.

Playing with multiple bingo cards

With Bingo, the best way to improve your odds is simply by buying more Bingo cards. Each Bingo card will have a certain amount of numbers on it depending on which game type you’re playing. To get more numbers and therefore a bigger chance of your numbers being called, you’ll need to buy more cards or tickets as they’re sometimes known.

Most game types will let you buy a set of cards known as a strip. Again, the exact number of cards in a strip will depend on which game type you’re playing. You can learn more about Bingo game types in our guide on the topic. Find out how many cards you can play with by checking the rules of the game before you play. Some sites might have different rules than others.

It always seems like a good idea to buy as many tickets as possible, that way you’ll increase your odds and have a higher chance of winning. Of course, you’ll also be risking more money, and there’s still a good chance you won’t win. Other players can also buy extra cards, which can alter the odds of the game in ways you can’t necessarily predict.

Some Bingo games will show you how many cards have been bought for the game. It may also show how many players there are. Using this, you’ll be able to judge whether you should buy a few more tickets or not. Whether you prefer to play with just a few tickets or as many as possible comes down to personal choice.

Choosing your numbers

While most games of Bingo randomly allocate you numbers, others allow you to choose your own. This is great news for players who have lucky numbers, but for those that don’t, are some numbers better than others?

There are two main strategies for picking Bingo numbers, both of which were developed after researching the likelihood of certain numbers being chosen over others. These are the Granville and Tippet Bingo strategies.

Granville Bingo strategy was developed by a financial analyst, Joseph Granville. Granville wanted to find out if there was a way to improve Bingo odds by choosing certain numbers. He researched the randomness of the game and found that games that went on for a very long time had an even spread of numbers. He learned that odds, evens, high and low numbers were all distributed evenly. There was also an equal chance of each second digit occurring. So for example, an equal chance of numbers ending in one, two, three and so on. With this strategy, you should aim to pick an equal amount of each of these types. So you have an equal number of odds and evens, an equal amount of high and low numbers and an equal amount of numbers ending in each of the single-digit numbers.

Tippet Bingo strategy was developed by a statistician L.H.C. Tippet. He came up with the theory that the longer a game of Bingo lasted, the more likely the numbers would be spread closer to the middle of the range. So, for example, a game that goes on for more than eighty balls will have a high percentage of balls close to the middle of the total ball number. A game that’s over quickly is more likely to have balls closer to the high and low end of the range. Using this strategy, you’ll have to determine whether the game will be over quickly or not. Games that require you to win using certain patters will usually take much longer to end. If it’s going to be a long game, choose numbers which are around the median. For shorter games, pick numbers closer to one or to the maximum number.

Going for the jackpot

While most Bingo games have a fixed jackpot, a lot of sites also offer progressive jackpot games. These games have a big jackpot up for grabs which will grow as more players join the game. They’ll usually have a different winning condition than regular jackpots, such as hitting a full house within a certain amount of numbers called. It can take multiple games before they’re won, which leads to some massive prizes building up.

The progressive jackpots can be a huge amount of money but don’t forget that there’s a lower chance of winning the game. Not only do more people play these games, but the jackpot itself is very hard to trigger. Buying more cards does help, but there isn’t much else you can do to improve your chances of landing that massive jackpot.

If you want to discover the best jackpot games and see how often they payout, you can find more details here at Xfire. We help players to find the biggest jackpots and hopefully win life-changing amounts of money!

Avoiding the crowds

Bingo odds can be shortened by buying more cards to play with. This will give you more numbers and a higher chance of winning. Another way to move the odds in your favour is to play in smaller rooms. You can see how many players are in each room before you join and pick your room accordingly. Fewer players mean you’ll have improved odds of winning and you can use this to your advantage.

If you want to regularly find smaller rooms, try playing at off-peak times. This means avoiding the Bingo site in the evenings and weekends if possible. When there are fewer people online, rooms tend to be smaller, which will always give you a slight winning advantage.

Of course, fewer players often mean that the prize pool will be smaller. A lot of sites base the prize on how many players are in the room. If you don’t mind a higher chance of winning a smaller prize, however, this is a great strategy.

FAQ on Bingo Strategies

  • Can I improve my Bingo playing skills?
Of course, as with any game, practice makes perfect. Bingo is a lot more dependant on luck than other games, but practising will help you know how many cards you should be buying and which rooms and sites are the best to play at.
  • Is it possible to play online Bingo for free?
Yes, lots of Bingo sites out there offer free Bingo cards to new players. You can also collect some nice matched deposit and even no deposit bonuses at some sites. These allow you to play online Bingo without risking your own money, essentially playing for free.
  • When is the best time to play online Bingo?
This really depends on your preferences. Obviously, there are fewer players at certain times of the day, and this gives you a higher chance of winning. However, in most cases, it also means that the total prize amount is smaller. Try playing at different times of the day and see which you like best.
  • Do certain patterns pay better than others?
This mostly depends on which game type you’re playing. Usually, Full House will payout the best. However, some game types require players to get a certain pattern on their card or award extra prizes to those that do. Make sure you take a good look at the rules before buying your cards, so you know exactly what to look out for.
  • Do some games of Bingo payout better than others?
Most types of Bingo have a similar RTP rate. You can usually look this up before you start playing a game to give you an idea of whether it’s worth it or not. Games with bigger prizes such as progressive jackpots often have a lower RTP rate than others.
  • My Bingo site doesn’t let me pick my Bingo numbers, is it still worth playing?
Sure, it’s still worth playing. You won’t be able to use the Tippet or Grenville strategies, but you can still have fun. Some sites will allow you to choose a different card if you don’t like the numbers on the one you’ve been given. You can use this to hopefully give yourself favourable numbers that boost your odds slightly.
